Registered intervention
ClinicalTrials.gov describes a randomised, blinded, placebo-controlled study of autologous hair-follicle-derived secretome in 60 participants with androgenetic alopecia. The product contains substances released by cultured follicle-derived cells and is injected into the scalp.
The registry lists the study as recruiting, with an actual start in October 2025 and estimated completion in September 2027.
Relation to hair cloning
No expanded cells or newly engineered follicles are transplanted in the registered intervention. The biological hypothesis is that cell-secreted factors may stimulate existing follicles. The study is relevant to regenerative-hair research but distinct from cloning and de novo follicle creation.
Evidence requirements
The trial’s placebo control, hair counts, thickness measurements and safety follow-up can provide useful evidence. Marketing availability and company descriptions should remain separate from the eventual controlled results.
